About Chris Paschke
I have spent my entire life drawing, sketching, painting, and lettering. I'm trained to make paper, grind ink, build brushes, cut quills, and frame finished art. My art comes from a passion within, one that speaks without words. I have been strongly influenced by an eclectic combination of old world scribes, traditional Chinese master artisans, and abstract expressionism including Kline, Pollack, Rothko and Motherwell. I create from my inner self, my soul, beginning from the nothing--the Enso--allowing the medium to tell me what must be done. I'm passionate about working with Asian materials: brushes, paper and pigments. They speak to me allowing for a better fusion between western written words and wash techniques in my fine art...
